derek chauvin being found guilty is a victory, but we can’t let that blind us to the fact that this has kept happening and never actually stopped. even if the protests went quiet, that doesn’t mean things changed. we have to hold them accountable and we have to remember those who have died and will continue to die beneath the shadow of everything else that’s happened this year.

before we begin, this is not intended to say no one can watch/be into any of the things listed below, it is to simply warn my fellow epileptics of things that could cause a photosensory-induced seizure. that is, to also say, some of these things have other flaws and issues within them, and anything listed here is not exempt of problems/criticism, but i am not here to criticize them for the flaws within the thing itself. once again, this is a warning so people can avoid having seizures.
neon genesis evangelion - this series has extremely bad flashing, i could not finish it because of this. nearly every fighting scene (which there are a lot of) has intense flashing lights and colors.
revolutionary girl utena - from what i have heard, this, along with many other old anime (such as eva, listed above) have a big issue with flashing colors and strobe effects. generally, i would advise doing your research/asking people around you before watching an older anime. these can be very dangerous.
genshin impact - the game’s fight mechanics are filled with bright colors and flashing lights, and there isn’t a warning until you’ve already installed, and opened the game (and even that is very vague). it’s caused people headaches, so i would not be surprised if it would cause seizures as well. luckily, there is a manga if you want to get into the story, however, if you have epilepsy, i would be wary of the game itself.
metalocalypse - in the intro specifically, there are many flashing lights and colors. they are also sprinkled throughout the show itself. these scenes are skippable, but i would recommend someone else (who knows when these happen) watch it with you, and give you time to look away or warn you before the flash.
nbc hannibal - there are very few flashing scenes in this show, and the places where flashes happen are skippable. the most prominent are when dr. lecter is brainwashing will and another girl (who i do not remember exactly who right now). these scenes are entirely skippable, and i absolutely would recommend doing so. ps., there is also a scene where will graham has an on-screen seizure. while there aren’t any strobe effects happening at the time, the scene itself was very triggering for me, and upset me for a while after watching it.
homestuck -if you have epilepsy, i cannot stress this enough, do not look at homestuck, or anything homestuck related. this comic is literally seizure hell. there are an incredible amount of strobes, intense flashing colors, and general flickering images. (the original google document listing out homestuck’s issues did not mention this. so i am.)
spiderman: into the spiderverse - while the animation is beautiful, this movie is chock full of bright colors and flashes. i was able to sit through it, but did get a headache afterwards. i would especially not recommend watching it in a dark-lit room, as it makes this issue worse.
mob psycho 100 - this show has a lot of bright colors that flash and are generally very eye-strainy. i had to skip out on a lot of this, but it may be watchable with the screen dimmed, depending on person to person.
dorohedoro -in most, if not all, of the dorohedoro openings, there are intense flashing colors and strobe effects. the rest of the show is pretty okay, but i would skip the openings (and endings) whenever possible.
half life - this has very minor flashes around the resonance cascade, but other than that, ive been told its fine to watch.
rwby - there are some flashy scenes, but i have never watched this show, so i can not elaborate in full detail about them. just be wary!
ghost (vocaloid producer) - many of the music videos include flashing colors and strobe effects in them. if you want to listen to their music, i would recommend going into a different tab or avoiding the actual music videos themself.
lisa the painful - this game has red flashing screens throughout the game, if you are going to try to play, i would advise having someone tell you when exactly these flashes are, or just watch a playthrough of it, but you may need to avoid it entirely.

Hii I’m Rae, I’m peruvian, I’m partially blind and I have ADHD, I’m an animation student but for over a year I haven’t been able to study because of covid. My dad was left unemployed by the pandemic and I haven’t been able to get a job since I have no experience and I haven’t graduated yet. My dad has diabetes and my mom is inmunosupressed, she’s the only one with a stable job, she’s a teacher.
We made our own little bakery and we´re working hard to make it grow but now the government has declared complete lockdown again, which means we cannot make deliveries and since we don’t live near the center we won’t get orders.
We don’t have money for my education, the appointments to the doctor, the new glasses I need to see (I only have vision in one eye and its poor so I need thick glasses) or sleep medication I need because of ADHD.
My family has been struggling but we’ve tried our best to keep working, we now have a nice little bakery, we make different types of bread, pizzas, desserts, chocolates and snacks. But we still need help, specially now, I’m leaving some pictures of what we’ve made lately.
I know everyone is struggling right now but I’m begging you, if you´re able to donate just a little please do, if you can’t, please reblog.

I honestly don’t understand why there aren’t more people who, when given the platform to discuss minimum wage, don’t simply distill it to the simplest of facts:
A forty hour work week is considered full time.
It’s considered as such because it takes up the amount of time we as a society have agreed should be considered the maximum work schedule required of an employee. (this, of course, does not always bear out practically, but just follow me here)
A person working the maximum amount of time required should earn enough for that labor to be able to survive. Phrased this way, I doubt even most conservatives could effectively argue against it, and out of the mouth of someone verbally deft enough to dance around the pathos-based jabs conservative pundits like to use to avoid actually debating, it could actually get opps thinking.
Therefore, if an employee is being paid less than [number of dollars needed for the post-tax total to pay for the basic necessities in a given area divided by forty] per hour, they are being ripped off and essentially having their labor, productivity, and profit generation value stolen by their employer.
Wages are a business expense, and if a company cannot afford to pay for its labor, it is by definition a failing business. A company stealing labor to stay afloat (without even touching those that do so simply to increase profit margins and/or management/executive pay/bonuses) is no more ethical than a failing construction company breaking into a lumber yard and stealing wood.
Our goal as a society should be to protect each other, especially those that most need protection, not to subsidize failing businesses whose owners could quite well subsidize them on their own.

The whole fucking point of rag rugs etc. was that you made use of textiles you already had that could no longer be used for their intended purpose, and you extended the lifecycle of the item by turning it into something else useful instead of throwing it in the garbage. When you buy clothing that still has use *as clothing* just to cut it into rags to make a rug, you’re *speeding up* the consumption of materials. You’re shortening the lifecycle. You are consuming MORE.
And you’re doing it by buying up resources that marginalized people need. Those thrift store sheets would look so much better on somebody’s fucking bed, but since you wanted that Little House on the Prairie vibe, someone is sleeping on a bare mattress now whilst trying to save their pennies to go to fucking Wal-Mart for bedsheets. And that denim throw pillow probably looks adorable on your sofa, but somebody needed a pair of sturdy jeans for that job they’re trying to get, and now there’s nothing available.
But sure, your house looks cute. I guess that’s important.
If you do want to work with secondhand materials- put a message round to friends. I have a cashmere jumper I got for free because a friend was going to throw it out. Just 20 minutes of knitting some custom elbow patches and sewing them on and I had a jumper for free that would have cost £150 new and was headed for the trash.

Hey everyone! I’ve been putting this off for a while because I know a lot of people are in need during this pandemic and everything, but the longer I go without insurance I’m finding this more and more necessary.
I have been looking into operations like this since I woke up with C cups in grade 6. This brought on a lot of struggles for me since then of dysphoria and discomfort. As I grew up and developed my now H CUPS (which I just had to pause to cry over since this this my smallest cup since I started high school… THEY USED TO BE JS!!!!!!!) I also have worsened physically from them.
I have a lot of conditions that having breasts at all and especially ones this big affect me a lot. My scoliosis has been getting so bad that I’ve had to quit the physical field I was working in that hardly gave me enough insurance to even deal with this stuff in the first place.
I have long suffered from and been recently diagnosed with hidradenitis suppurativa that affects me mostly around my breasts and has caused not just immense amounts of physical pain, but is a cherry on top to the dysphoria I already feel.
I’ve dealt with Gender Problems since middle school when I’d take bathroom breaks to fix up my duct tape. I bind, but it clearly is no kind of solution for my dysphoria or the physical pain, not to mention the nerve damage and breathing issues I have as an asthmatic when I bind (so I really can’t do it often).
Honestly at this point I am begging for these to get off of me.
